Counselling sessions take place in my home and my aim is to create a space for you to feel comfortable to share your difficulties and to understand your experience as you feel it.
I will help you to understand yourself and not judge you or criticise you. I will carefully listen, support you and help you to make sense of what happened or is currently happening in your life.
Together we can gain clarity, explore your options and find alternative ways of dealing with life's challenges and ways to move forward which can enable you to feel more empowered to make positive changes, feel better about yourself and your circumstances and fully fulfill your potential.
Exploring difficult feelings can be painful at times, but healing at the same time.
I will give you focused attention, experience and support in a private and confidential space where you can explore, reflect and be heard.
As an Integrative counsellor, I draw on a wide range of counselling techniques. I integrate these into my work to your benefit.
Over the years I have worked with numerous concerns, including:
* anxiety & panic attacks
* pregnancy and birth
* depression / post-natal depression
* negative thoughts
* bereavement
* low self-esteem and shyness
* relationship difficulties
* stress
* stress around work/financial difficulties
* emotional / physical / sexual abuse
* anger and difficult feelings
* self harm / eating disorders
* addictions & substance abuse
* family / parenting issues
* domestic violence
* feeling stuck / lost
Each session is 50 minutes long and begins at the time booked.
Sessions are normally arranged weekly, at the same time and at the same place, but I offer some flexibility for those whose patterns of work or life are changeable.
I work with clients both short-term (up to 12 sessions) and long-term (open ended) depending on what you decide you need.
You are free to stop therapy at the time you choose. Notice of at least two weeks should normally be given before ending therapy, so we can review our work together and have an appropriate and safe ending.
An appointment missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged in full.
If you would like to meet, then please contact me to make an appointment. Our initial meeting will be an opportunity for us to get a sense of each other and for you to decide if you would like to work with me.
There is no obligation to attend further sessions should you decide not to continue.
You can find more information about counselling sessions and what you could expect if you choose me as your therapist in Questions & Answers.
